The fully equipped kitchen includes modern appliances like a washer/dryer, fridge, oven, electric hob, and both pod and filter coffee machines. It’s stocked with cookware and utensils, and the dining table seats four.

Sandpipers Cottage has two spacious bedrooms: a master with a comfortable double bed and a second room with twin beds, ideal for children or friends. Both rooms offer plenty of natural light and storage.

Neighborhood
Sandpipers is situated in the small, peaceful hamlet of Fenham-le-Moor in Belford looking out towards Holy Island. Both Lindisfarne Castle and Bamburgh Castle can be seen from the property, and being so close to the Fenham Flats nature reserve means that a large variety of wading birds can be heard from the garden.

Belford has a thriving and friendly market square at its centre, brimming with independent shops, restaurants and inns. It’s an ideal base for those wanting to partake in a spot of fishing and golfing.

Sandpipers is just a short 15-minute drive from the gorgeous coastal village of Bamburgh. Here you’ll find miles of stunning sandy shores and Bamburgh Castle, which is one of the finest castles in the country. Standing on the Northumberland coastline for over 1,400 years, there is a wealth of history to uncover.

Getting Around
Sandpipers is located within 20 minutes’ drive time to beautiful areas within Northumberland such as Bamburgh, Seahouses and Beadnell. There are excellent travel links as the cottage is only a short distance from the A1.

The closest train station is Chathill, which is roughly a 20-minute drive from Sandpipers so local towns in Northumberland can easily be reached via rail.

There are a number of bus stops throughout Belford. Hop on the 418 service to explore Bamburgh, Beadnell, Alnwick and Alnmouth amongst others. The X18 route travels between Newcastle and Berwick upon Tweed with stops in Morpeth, Amble and Seahorses.

The property was in a great location for us and plenty of space inside to be comfy.
There was a few little issues, the kettle needs replacing, didnt boil water before clicking off and the cleaning needs improving. 1st mug we used had dry soup in it, few cobwebs around and generally dirty around the floor and cupboards especially in the bathrooms. Shower heads full of limescale too.
But as we were out most of the time it didnt affect us. Check in and out was simple if not q little early.

Having booked a property in February for a stay in August, paid a deposit I then expected the remainder of the payment to be taken 6-8 weeks before the stay. Not with this company, they took the deposit day 1 and then took the remainder 3 days later. A week before the stay I was then informed that I had to pay a £25 damage indemnity, not listed on the Booking.com website. When I pointed this out I was then referred to a new website for the details of this and told "we can't change the details on Booking.com". Rubbish, just a scam. I will never book any property with Host & Stay and suggest property owners look at their feedback on Trust Pilot, wish I had before booking. Not impressed by Booking.com either for allowing this practice to take place.

The process of paying the extra insurance requested was stressful as the company managing the property were asking for personal details outside of the airbnb app which we were advised not to provide. This was eventually resolved but took longer than it should have. The property itself was lovely, in a beautiful, quiet location with a big, enclosed garden for the dogs. It was a spacious, well equipped place and we had everything we needed. We really enjoyed our stay.

The location was lovely and the property had great facilities. The kitchen was well stocked and bathroom had soap/shampoo and shower gel.

Both the table lamps in the twin room didn't work. The bed in the twin room were not very sturdy for adults.
There were some areas that had been missed during cleaning.

We were really delighted with Sandpipers Cottage. The cottage is in a lovely place.
Sandpipers is very well equipped with good quality crockery and utensils and has a good cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwasher. There is also a utility room with a modern washing machine, a vacuum cleaner, an iron and ironing board and even a mop and bucket. The furniture is very comfortable - the beds are really comfy which was lovely. There is a good sized television and also an electric fire if you need any extra heat other than the storage heaters. There are even some board games in one of the sideboard drawers! There is plenty of hot water. An added bonus is the two bathrooms and showers - much appreciated when there are four adults and especially when one person is disabled.
Sandpipers has good access for a disabled person with limited mobility. Everything is on the ground floor and there is plenty of space to move around. The entrance in to the cottage is very easily accessible, with my disabled sister in law needing just a little assistance over the gravel.
It also has a lovely garden - although it was too windy for us to sit outside while we were there - but it was nice to look at. We also enjoyed all the bird activity. There is a bird feeder hanging from one of the trees so my other sister in law bought a bag of wild bird seed from the National Trust shop on Lindisfarne and filled the feeder each day and we enjoyed seeing all the different birds' antics as they visited each day!
The view of Holy Island and the castle from the cottage is lovely and some of us enjoyed walking down the lane in the evenings to the Fenham flats at the nature reserve. It was so peaceful!
Sandpipers is in an ideal situation with the A1 nearby which gives easy access to many places fairly near without having to travel long distances.
I would also like to mention Josh at Host and Stay.

There was absolutely nothing we didn't like at Sandpipers.
Even the weather was great, despite the constant strong winds! We only had a scattering of short showers, with lots of sun shine and pure blue skies - no doubt the wind kept the clouds moving and the rain away!!

Great stay at Sandpipers. Lovely, peaceful cottage. Well equiped, clean and a great (private) garden. Unfortunately, the weather wasnt great so we couldnt make the most of it. Lots of great beaches and villages within a short drive away.
Would look to stay again.

The location was perfect so close to the areas we wanted to visit. Despite being on a farm it was very quiet.
well equipped kitchen.

the front door was difficult to open from the inside.
only 2 of the night storage heaters were turned on when we arrived so the first night was cold

Lovely location with a beautiful garden. All items needed for a short stay available for use. Double bed so comfortable however twin beds a little cramped together. Only minor comment for improvement was that is was cold the 1st night as heaters not on. Would book again

Stay cancelled the property as I arrived. it looked perfect, but didn't get to stay there. Stay customer support was less than useless. I had to sort out alternate accommodation. the cancellation cost me an extra £200. Would have loved to stay there. I would definitely bypass Stay or Air BnB next time.

Fairly spacious cottage with pleasant and private aspect. However, heating was not on for our arrival and storage heaters take a long time to give output, so our first evening was cold. Property was clean at a very basic level but it is not benefitting from regular thorough cleaning so cobwebs, lots of dust on ledges, corners, grimy kitchen unit doors, kettle was caked with limescale, internal glass doors not clean, etc. Guests should not have to do any cleaning on arrival. Single beds are small (only really suitable for children) and rather old. Both sets of bedroom curtains need immediate replacement due to damp/mildew staining. Two ceiling lights did not come on and picture lights not working - these should have been checked during the servicing. Both bathrooms do not have proper wall-mounted mirrors - instead tiny round 6 inch mirrors - made shaving very difficult. The cleaners need to be given sufficient time and supervision to do a thorough job.

Nice big garden and brilliant location for exploring the local area. Good parking

Certain areas could be improved and it would be nice to have seating in the lawned area rather than hidden away

The property is really well laid out and the garden (with a distant view of Lindisfarne) was great. We brought our dog on his first trip away and he loved racing round the garden which was well fenced. The kitchen has everything you might need. Communication before and after our stay was fast and helpful.

The house is lovely, very comfortable and lots of space to relax. The garden is an added bonus with seating area to enjoy a morning coffee while looking at Lindisfarne castle!

The sandpiper exceeded our expectations, it was so homely and the private garden was a real bonus, our dog loved it. Beds were super comfy, showers good and loved the little touches like dishwasher tablets, foil, tea towels etc. It's a few mile out of Belford so you need to go everywhere by car but that's a fair trade for the beautiful location. Situated at the end of a small hamlet it was completely private but the surrounding locals in Farm and cottages we're all friendly and helpful.
Good food at The White Swan at Warrenfold, and we The Black Swan at Belford let us eat fish n chip takeaway inside and join their quiz, very friendly staff. Best beach Bamburgh with free parking turn down The Wyndings. Birdlife and Hares galore, hope to be back.
