The Space
On the ground floor, you’ll find the colourful open plan kitchen and dining area, as well as the warming living room. Super cosy and welcoming, there is wallpaper that reflects the local scenery, and a flat screen TV so it will certainly feel like your home from home. With a lounge style corner sofa and a matching footstool which is equally useful as a coffee table, this is the perfect spot to retreat to on an evening.

Elegant and sophisticated, the kitchen has a combination of blue and green coloured cabinets and light worktops, all with a wooden appearance. Fully equipped for all self-catering stays, the house has a washer, dishwasher, oven, refrigerator and microwave.

Also in this room is the dining area which includes a rectangular wooden table, three dining chairs and a bench.

Outside you’ll find a cosy enclosed yard. With outdoor plants, seating and a table, this area has been carefully designed to maximise the space.

Head upstairs to the first floor and you’ll arrive at the three bedrooms and the family bathroom. Warm and snug, the master bedroom has a blue feature wall with stylish furnishings and wooden flooring. The comfy king-size bed boasts plush bedding and linens as well as luxury soft furnishings. A private bathtub completes the space.

The second bedroom with its brick-style wall also has a king-size bed, whilst the third bedroom at Fox Cottage is a comfy double.

The bathroom has the same tidy look as the rest of the house. There is a spacious walk in shower, a bathtub, WC, and a basin. Contrasting perfectly with the light blue cladding, there are naturistic tiles added to create a seriously cool look.

We recently spent a weekend here, and it was lovely. The home was beautiful and had everything we needed, making it feel cozy and welcoming.
The host was proactive and provided clear, helpful instructions for the cottage.
The gated front area was perfect for our dogs—we felt completely at ease letting them enjoy the secure space.
Bellingham and its surroundings were charming. The locals were friendly, we enjoyed the Hareshaw Linn Walk and had great food and drinks at the Black Bull Hotel—fantastic quality and value.
Overall, we’d all happily stay here again in the future.

Had a lovely time, the cottage was well equipped and clean, easy to check in and great communication from the hosts. Gorgeous area with lots to do.

Lovely and cosy. Liked the decor
Enjoyed using the tin bath in the bedroom both mornings!

The pans were not non stick and food easily stuck to them when we cooked. We did manage to scrub it off but the food easily stuck and burnt if not careful.
I did make a special request for a bottle of Prosecco and maybe balloon for our arrival as it was my partners birthday, I was told that this was all fine. However there was none of this on arrival.
There could also have been some dog treats, a toy, dog bed to be more pet friendly.

Really well equipped and very comfortable cottage for all 5 of us. Brilliant location with good pubs and walks nearby. Would love to return!

The place is beautiful and there’s a cat over the road that will 100% come and hang out with you in the garden which is super cute. The location is good as long as you have a car and is within half an hour of all the things you’d want to do.
Only downside is that this company charges you a refundable but large safety deposit or a small but non refundable safety deposit which it turns out isn’t actually allowed but they won’t release the key code to the lock box until you pay it.

Property is in a lovely village, excellent location. Would give the location 10/10. But kitchen dirty, thus the 6.

Cleanliness of kitchen is a shocker. We had to wash every plate/dish/pot before we could use...plates were visibly greasy, pans & pots dirty, mugs dirty, even the grater had old cheese on it. We travel a lot and never experienced such a dirty kitchen.
Another annoyance - you are very cheekily required to give a £250 deposit! (which takes a while to come back to you).

Wonderful location. Bellingham is a nice little village, and the Kielder water area is fantastic for gravel cycling. Great views and endless gravel routes. The Cheviot is a great place to go for dinner. The house is spacious, downstairs toilet and bathroom upstairs with toilet, shower and bath. The kitchen has plenty of space and a nice induction hob.

The freezer needs defrosting, and the cutlery and pans needed a quick wash before use. Otherwise cleanliness was great, so not much of a problem.

Fox Cottage made for a fantastic weekend stay, so much so my daughter wanted to live there! It had been a few years since I/we had been to the village, so the addition of First & Last Brewery/Tap Room and the new coffee shop, LUNCH, next door to the Co-op were both an added bonus. The car never moved from checking-in to checking-out, so we just made the most of the beautiful surroundings including the Hareshaw Linn walk. I'm sure we'll be back before long!

Fox Cottage is in a peaceful cul-de-sac off the main road through Bellingham. There is parking for two cars on the drive. Next time we are fishing on the N.Tyne we will check to see if the cottage is available to stay in.

Amazing stay! We had a wedding at the le petit château, 15 mins drive away. Worked out well cheaper for the 6 of that stayed here, rather than booking individual hotel rooms.
Host kept intouch if we needed anything they where a message or a phone call away. Place was spotless. Shops restaurants all within 5 minutes walk. If im ever around there again i would definitely stay there.

Clean, comfortable, warm wee house. Lots of pots/pans, crockery, enough cutlery and basic utensils. Big comfortable beds and lots of good quality towels. Telly and Wi-Fi were both good though some instructions would have helped with the former. Friendly, helpful neighbours and lovely village. There was no drier which was disappointing as it was listed. We did not use the baths but the shower was plenty powerful and the water good and hot, though the shower screen was a bit short so as a result the bath-mat ended up a bit soggy. The enclosed front garden is a safe area for dogs and kids and would be a nice place to sit in the summer. We visited in an overcast week in January and felt that downstairs would benefit from some lamps or down lighters.
Agent responded promptly when alerted to an issue with the bins not getting emptied. Hopefully that has been dealt with for future guests.
We would recommend the property and the area. We would stay there again - a great wee holiday.

Just a couple of observations, maybe improve the lighting not great over mirrors. And have the microwave checked as got very hot on outside casing switched it off and didn’t use again. Apart from those couple of thing great place.
Thanks

Stayed two nights at this air bnb. The place is beautifully presented. It’s managed by an agent and not the owners. The paying for a deposit adds another cost or admin layer for you to think about. With it being managed by an agent there is not much kitchen essentials there. There was no oil or washing up liquid. The place is 30 seconds from the local pub. Bellingham is a small village but was close to the observatory and kielder national park.

Cosy house. Comfortable beds. Private parking space. A minute away from the co-op and the pharmacy. Location is good as a base to explore the national parks in the area. Coffee machine was broken down and the owner brought us a brand new one.

Overpriced. I paid around 210 pounds per night and the fair cost is around a 110. Requested bigger pot and wok but the management refused. Cleaning could have been better (cobwebs can be seen in bathrooms and rooms).

16/08/2023

The layout was good and the furnishing very very nice.

Every room was dusty had to clean all eating plates and utensils ass they where greasy.
No cleaning clothes or solution for work tops and bath.
Just a little attention to detail like salt and pepper pots just little this thing.

Every Cottage I have stayed in do a little welcome pack like, bread jam milk biscuits etc.

Little things help the stay.

Carron

10/08/2023

The location was perfect for us as we were attending a wedding in otterburn.
It is decorated to a high standard. The quirky little bath in the bedroom has raised a smile. Comfy beds and sofa. Plenty of room for 6 guests.

The cleanliness could have been better, quite dusty in places particularly underneath things.

Steve

04/08/2023

Decorated lovely, clean

Late check in if 4pm and very early check out of 10am. We reported a problem with a leak with bathroom sink and they sent a plumber at 9am the morning of check out despite requesting them waiting until we checked out at 10am as had 4 children with us to get ready to leave property. We had said 9am no problem if we could have a little bit of a later check out but refused. Also £90 cleaning fee is very excessive especially since they message and ask you to make sure it is left clean before leave. Also had to pay an extra £25 on top of booking.com fee we paid or allow them to hold £250 on a card which we were not aware of.

great place for a base for exploring the nearby area. Lovely village with good amenities and walks in close proximity to the accommodation. House it self was very comfortable and well decorated, with a homely feel to it. It had everything we needed in it. Would recommend.

It was exceptionally clean, comfortable and easy to live in. Nothing was wrong. Bellingham is a lovely place to stay.

I did not like the policy of charging for potential damage or breakages. It cost me an extra €30 for not hurting anything in the property.. I find this policy of the interface company iniquitous and I shall never knowingly use them again. I thought I was with Booking.com but it turned out to be Host and Stay. Their additional charges for cleaning etc were very high also. Their downloaded information was also not adequate for local amenities nor for where the utility cupboard key was located. I repeat the cottage itself was superb but the agents far less so.

The house was easy to find. Pictures were a great representation of the property. Lovely quirky decor. The roll top baths were amazing!
Great toiletries, bedding and towels were all lovely quality and spotless.
Loved being able to walk into the village. we rent a lot of properties and the quality of this one along with the service from Host & Stay we will definitely book here again and use them in the future where possible.

Had drinks at the Cheviot Hotel which were reasonable priced and lovely log fire. Had a takeaway from Happy Valley which was fantastic and breakfast from Fountain Cottage which again was amazing.

Bellingham is a fantastic little village with a lot to offer and close to so many wonderful places in Northumberland.

Newly renovated, clean, well appointed, comfortable beds and warm. Hand over process was easy.
Large rooms with comfy beds. Good sofas and a decent TV with streaming services.
Wifi worked fine.
Really nice house - have booked it again for later in the year.

Not sure the damage deposit/waiver policy thing is really necessary - but I went with it and paid my £25 extra
For the kitchen, Please could we have a grill pan, a plastic spatula so as not to damage the non stick pans
For the bathroom - a small shelf to put wash bag, razor etc on as there isn't anywhere.
Slight smell of oil from the boiler in the kitchen

Everything was perfect for our stay - the location ideal for sight seeing and wedding event in Kielder Water.
(On a very minor note, it would perhaps benefit from some hanging space for outdoor coats, maybe behind the kitchen door ?

Thank you

Really great Airbnb! Super location with everything you need in the village, and a great place to stay. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable furniture. We would definitely recommend.
Just a side note, you have to pay a deposit on top of quoted price. It is written in the Airbnb description but I’d missed it.

Great stay in a beautiful home. The kitchen was extremely well equipped, including dog bowls, which supported our Christmas stay very well. The host kindly put up a Christmas tree too, which was such a nice touch. Beds were a little hard and make sure to bring basic amenities like toilet roll (which wasn't very clear), but these are very small things which did not overshadow a lovely stay at a beautiful home. There is also a gorgeous hike up to a waterfall very near the house, which was so enjoyable! Thank you for a lovely stay.

Great house, decorated and fitted out to a really good standard. Comfy beds, sofa and kitchen containing everything you need all in a great location for country walks and pubs.
Just be aware of the additional damage deposit and admin fee you have to fill in additional forms for and pay ... the booking process isn't as easy as I've experienced with private hosts.

We had a lovely stay this weekend. The house was beautiful and really cost with a couple of lovely baths (which my partner enjoyed.

Cannot fault the location and some lovely local places to eat.

Stay here and you won’t be disappointed. We stayed in Bellingham as we’d booked to go to the Kielder Observatory which was only 30mins away (drive) so really handy.

Deco was great

Basically we are family of 5. 2 adults and 3 kids and when they eat they make a bit of a mess with cereal. There was no hover or dust pan and brush. So we lived in house without being able to tidy ourselves. Also, the cleaning bill which is a quarter of the cost of accomodation is too high at £90.

Fox Cottage made for a really relaxing and peaceful stay - a luxurious mix of country cottage and boutique hotel with decor I wanted to take home. We had fantastic weather too - totally contrary to the forecast - so it was too warm to try out the master bedroom’s bath; we’ll have to book in again when it’s colder! The kitchen was really well equipped but we chose to eat out most of the time. The cottage is slap bang in the middle of the village so you can just walk to the pubs, shops and cafes - a perfect location. Spot on communication from the property managers too. Thanks!

what a great stay. perfect location with parking for our 2 cars. the property has been updated to a very high with some very cool and individual futures. such as a bath in one of the bedrooms. even better when we were able to bring our spaniel with us to, who also enjoyed the trip and the air bnb. we would highly recommend this stay, certainly not the cheapest for what we got, but not over priced either.
