Property Details

The Space
Beautifully renovated to the highest standard, Oliver’s Den has stunning interiors throughout, giving the property a wonderful, homely feel. This family and dog friendly property boasts a well-equipped kitchen, welcoming living room with log burner, and a dining room on the ground floor, all of which with the perfect mix of traditional and modern.

The living area has two fabric sofas, a flat screen TV and a cosy log burner, so you can retreat here after a fun-filled day exploring Alnwick.

The shaker style kitchen is an olive-green colour which complements the otherwise neutral colour scheme. Fully equipped for self-catering stays, the kitchen has modern appliances, dishes, cookware and utensils.

Ideal for socialising, the dining area includes a large wooden table and stylish blue, velvet dining chairs. You’ll also find original wooden flooring here, adding real character to the space.

On the first floor, you’ll find two bedrooms and the family bathroom. Both bedrooms boast king size beds, individual colour schemes, and ample storage space so you can make yourself right at home.

Head upstairs to the second floor and you’ll find the final bedroom which is great for little ones. Benefiting from comfy twin single beds and sloped ceilings, this room has plenty of style.

Modern and sophisticated, the family bathroom has a bath and overhead shower, WC and basin. A separate WC can also be found on the ground floor.

Neighborhood
With cobbled streets lined with independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, the market town of Alnwick has charisma and personality in abundance. If you’re a keen reader, head to the old railway station and you’ll find one of the UK’s largest second-hand bookshops. As night falls, venture to one of the lively inns to enjoy live music.

Alnwick also has some of the country’s top attractions including Alnwick Castle, which was the location for the famous Harry Potter film franchise. Discover a realm of adventure by taking on the Dragon Quest or complete broomstick training in the very spot where Harry Potter had his first flying lesson. Head to the Artisan Courtyard to have fun dressing up in medieval costumes and get a feel for 14th century life. You can also explore The Alnwick Garden where you’ll find 12 acres of magnificent gardens and the world’s largest treehouse restaurant. There is also the newly opened (Spring 2023) Lilidorei here. This is a big tourist attraction for families as it’s the world's largest play structure.

Oliver’s den was absolutely perfect for us ! We were 4 adults and 2 kids who loved the freedom of having the attic to themselves. House was beautifully decorated and the fire in the living room made it extra cosy. We particularly loved how central it was, we walked both days into the town centre and Alnwick gardens. Can’t wait to come back ??

Had a wonderful stay. The house was perfect - bright, clean, the rooms are beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. The host was very friendly, quick to reply and they very accommodating when we asked to extend our stay. Would happily stay again.

Had a really lovely time staying here. The property is deceptively spacious and in a prime spot for walking to local restaurants and attractions in Alnwick. Would definitely stay here again!

Lovely house. Tastefully decorated to match the period; nicely furnished and all very comfortable. On a nice quiet street really close to Alnwick town centre and the castle. The house has everything you need in it. We only came for a mini break but would definitely consider coming back to as it's in a really central place to explore the Northumberland coastal area.

absolutely lovely homey house in great condition, clean and spacious. Lidle around the corner, Barter books really close by and town/Castle within easy walking distance. A contained courtyard for the dog so she could be outside a bit. The ocal streets not so nice for walking her but some really fantastic walks a short drive away. Was perfect for the weekend or longer.

We had a great stay in this very well equipped property. A teapot was my personal favourite item - not often provided anymore. Everything was clean and tidy with a thoughtful supply of toiletries and cleaning items. The location was within walking distance of the town and there were shops nearby too. Parking at the house was on a first come first served basis, which was mentioned in the details but worth knowing if you have children or lots to carry!

Lovely accommodation. Easy to access from the A1. Close to several shops for groceries. Stroll away from Barters Book shop and a little further to the Castle, Gardens and Lilidorei. On street parking was never a problem and the proximity to the town centre and facilities was a real benefit. Location is in local residential area which was peaceful. House was well furnished and clean. Comfortable furniture and well maintained. The reviews often refer to a damage waiver as a hidden cost but it’s in T&C’s so it’s not unreasonable. Overall communication from Host & Stay was excellent and clear. Really enjoyed the stay and would recommend.

Beautiful & comfortable holiday home in an excellent location, only 2 minutes from a supermarket and the start of Alnwick's main street. Easy to park outside which is always a bonus.

Nicely furnished. Great location. Good for family with dog. Toys available and two good sized patios. Bowls for dog as well. Was not very clean. Did not have fresh bed linen on beds. Hair and eyelashes found under duvet on multiple beds. Carpets dirty. Dusty. Poor customer service from Host & Stay who manage property.

Lovely quiet street and pretty house, well furnished inside, near to some wonderful places and scenery. We had an issue with a fixture breaking whilst we were there but the company dealt with it well.

House is well situated and close to town centre. It is well proportioned for 4 adults and maybe a bit small for 6 adults, small yard so no garden. Very quiet street and parking was easy
